At Love uMngeni, we believe that every child deserves a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Our Edu-Project focuses on equipping teachers and learners with the tools, skills, and confidence they need to succeed.
Through our Play to Learn Program, we bring the power of playful learning into classrooms. Using the innovative Six Bricks methodology, learners develop critical foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development. This hands-on, play-based approach transforms the way children learn and helps them build confidence, resilience, and a love for learning.
Six Bricks is a playful learning tool that uses six brightly coloured building blocks to develop essential skills in young children. Through structured activities and guided play, learners practice:
- Literacy: Letter recognition, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, and storytelling
- Numeracy: Counting, sorting, patterns, and early maths reasoning
- Social-Emotional Skills: Emotional regulation, collaboration, communication, and empathy
- Executive Function: Focus, memory, planning, and impulse control
Our Play to Learn Program is delivered through teacher training and in-classroom support. We partner with low-fee and no-fee primary schools in Hilton, Howick, and Mpophomeni to:
- Train Educators: Teachers receive practical training on how to use Six Bricks effectively in their classrooms
- Support Implementation: Our team provides ongoing mentorship and resources to ensure success
- Track Progress: We monitor learner development and provide feedback to schools and teachers
Research shows that play-based learning is one of the most effective ways to build foundational skills in young children. Play:

- Grows vocabulary faster than worksheets
- Reduces behavioural challenges
- Increases motivation and engagement
- Builds confidence and understanding
Through the Play to Learn Program, learners discover that learning is fun. They try, fail, persevere, and discover just how capable they are.
